FINAL SCORES

• Wilson Memorial 41, Stonewall Jackson 6

• Warren County 13, Skyline 12

• Bishop Walsh 57, Randolph-Macon Academy 47

• Sherando 36, Millbrook 6

• Clarke County 46, William Monroe 21

• Central 27, Strasburg 26, 2OT

10:20 p.m.: Now its Central's turn to try and hold on, as the Falcons take a 27-20 lead in the second overtime. Strasburg still has a chance to tie or win it.

10:11 p.m.: Not over yet; Central matches Strasburg's overtime touchdown to knot the score at 20-all. Second overtime coming up.

10:03 p.m.: Strasburg breaks through in OT to grab a 20-13 lead, but Central still gets a shot to tie or win it.

9:58 p.m.: Overtime! Central misses a last-second field goal and remains deadlocked at 13-13 with Strasburg at the end of regulation.

9:34 p.m.: It's going down to the wire in Strasburg, as the host Rams and Central are now tied at 13-all with 5:52 left to play.

9:33 p.m.: Sherando's Joe Ojo finally got a touchdown of his own -- and surpassed 200 yards rushing -- with a 3-yard TD run against Millbrook with 1:26 left to play. Sherando leads, 36-6.

9:25 p.m.: Sherando pushes its lead over Millbrook to 29-6 behind two familiar culprits. Tre Porter capped the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run -- his fourth of the game -- after Joe Ojo rattled off a 45-yard run during the scoring march. Ojo has 186 rushing yards so far with 5:07 left to play.

9:18 p.m.: Still no change in the Strasburg/Central game after three quarters. Rams still leading, 13-6.

9:08 p.m.: Lucas Tunison connnetes on a 20-yard field goal to stretch Sherando's lead to 22-6 over Millbrook late in the third quarter.

8:57 p.m.: Bleak night for Stonewall Jackson, as Wilson Memorial has stretched its lead to 34-6 after three quarters. Two Green Hornets running backs have topped 130 rushing yards each.

8:51 p.m.: Millbrook cuts into Sherando's lead with Justin Anderson's 67-yard touchdown run. Warriors still out front, 19-6, with 7:10 left in the third quarter.

8:38 p.m.: Clarke County leading William Monroe, 23-18, at halftime.

8:26 p.m.: Strasburg still leading Central, 13-6, at halftime.

8:10 p.m.: Make that three rushing touchdowns for Sherando's Tre Porter, who carried it in from the 2-yard line against Millbrook to put the Warriors ahead 19-0 late in the second quarter. Joe Ojo's 35-yard run was the big play of the drive, and Ojo already has 121 rushing yards on 19 carries for Sherando.

8:06 p.m.: Wilson Memorial leading Stonewall Jackson, 20-6, at halftime. The Generals have done little on offense since scoring a touchdown on their initial possession of the game.

8:04 p.m.: Sherando is out front 12-0 over Millbrook after Tre Porter's second touchdown run of the night, this one a 6-yarder with 6:54 left in the second quarter. Porter had a 12-yard TD run in the first quarter for the Warriors.

7:59 p.m.: Strasburg forges ahead of Central, 13-6, with 10:48 left in the second quarter.

7:52 p.m.: Strasburg pulls even with Central, 6-6, with 38 seconds left in the first quarter.

7:32 p.m.: Central is out front early over Strasburg, 6-0, with 11:48 left in the first quarter.

7:31 p.m.: At the end of the first quarter, Wilson Memorial leads Stonewall Jackson 13-6.

6:00 p.m.: Welcome back for one more week of regular-season football. With the majority of the area's teams already assured of postseason berths, much of tonight's action centers around final positioning in the rankings. Millbrook, for one, likely needs to beat Sherando to make the Group AA, Division 3 playoff field, and a victory tonight against Warren County would erase any lingering uncertainty for Skyline. Same goes for Handley, which hosts James Wood in a Saturday matchup at 1 p.m.

Here's a look at tonight's games:

• R-MA at Bishop Walsh (Md.), 3 p.m.

• Warren County at Skyline, 7 p.m.

• Millbrook at Sherando, 7 p.m.

• Wilson Memorial at Stonewall Jackson, 7 p.m.

• William Monroe at Clarke County, 7:30 p.m.

• Central at Strasburg, 7:30 p.m.

Skyline 15, Sherando 7
Clarke County 41, George Mason 7
Central 17, Madison County 14

9:42: James Wood beats Fauquier 38-23.

9:39: Kettle Run beats Warren County 28-21

9:30: Handley wins 26-9.

9:22: Handley now leads 26-9 with 1:25 left in the game.

9:14: Stuarts Draft beats Stonewall Jackson 19-8.

9:04: Skyline has defeated Sherando 15-7. The craziness continues in the Northwestern District.

9:03: James Wood leads 31-17 heading into the fourth. The Cardinals have just taken a 3-2 lead, bot. third on an Allen Craig solo homer.

9:00: Clarke County leads 34-7 with 6:15 left in the third quarter.

8:57: Handley still leads 19-9 at the end of the third quarter.

8:54: Handley now leads 19-9 with 1:32 left in the third quarter. The offenses came to play tonight. World Series still 2-2, headed to the bottom of the third.

8:52: Stuarts Draft now leads 19-8 at the end of the third quarter.

8:50: Thanks again Mike. Handley clinging to a 13-9 lead in the third. Skyline now leads Sherando 15-7 with only 4:18 left in the game.

8:46: Central leads Madison 10-7 at the half.

8:42: Warren County has tied the game with Kettle Run 14-14 midway through the third quarter on a Tyler Post TD run.

8:31: Thanks again Mike for the update on the Clarke County game. The Eagles up 27-7 at the half. They have a ways to go to catch up with the points in the Millbrook-Handley game, but the World Series is tied 2-2 at the end of an inning. It looks like it's going to be another slugfest tonight.

8:28: Thanks, Mike for the update. James Wood 24-10, that's a bit of a surprise. It looks like James Wood is finally coming to life this season. Sherando has tied Skyline 7-7 with 2 minutes left in the third quarter.

8:22: Stuarts Draft leads 19-0 at halftime.

8:10: Handley leads 13-3 at the half. Kettle Run leads Warren 14-7 at the half. Tyler Post connected with Damien Wright on a 45-yard TD pass. Gage Steele has only 2 carries for 0 yards and a fumble.

8:01: Stuarts Draft leads Stonewall Jackson 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.

7:54: Skyline leads 7-0 at halftime. The Hawks stopped Sherando once on downs deep in Skyline territory, and Sherando's Joe Ojo also fumbled once deep in Skyline territory. Handley has taken a 7-3 lead on Millbroom with 2:25 left in the first half.

7:53: Kettle Run leads 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.

7:45: Millbrook now leads 3-0 with 7:35 left in the second quarter.

7:42: Upset in the making? Skyline leads Sherando 7-0 in the second quarter. Skyline had a 98-yard 20-play drive.

7:37: Handley-Millbrook is scoreless after the first quarter. I wouldn't be surprised if there more runs scored in Game 7 of the World Series than in this football game.

4:53: Welcome back for another week of high school football. There's only one more week of the regular season after this one, so things are heating up as we get down to the wire. There's 7 big games tonight, and I will do my best to keep you updated throughout the night. Here's a list of tonight's games:

Handley at Millbrook, 7 p.m.
Stonewall Jackson at Stuarts Draft, 7 p.m.
Central 22, Manassas Park 21

9:55: Central rallied for a 22-21 win with a touchdown with 47 seconds left in the game.

9:31: Warren County held on against James Wood. Two games still going on. Strasburg trails 24-7 with 10 minutes left. Manassas Park leads Central 21-15 with 5:05 left.

9:13: We have two more finals. Kettle Run beats Skyline 26-7, and Stonewall beats Buffalo Gap 14-6. Manassas Park now leads Central 21-6 after three quarters.

9:10: Warren County has responded. It's 29-21 with 2:23 left in the game.

9:08: James Wood has tied things up 21-21, in the fourth quarter.

8:48: Kettle Run leads Skyline 12-7 in the fourth quarter. William Monroe is beating Strasburg 21-0 at the half.

8:37: Stonewall is still up 14-6 at the end of the third.

8:35: Warren County's offense is clicking now. The Wildcats lead 21-14 with 9:32 left in the third quarter.

8:26: Manassas Park leads Central 14-6 at the half. Stonewall is up 14-6 in the third quarter. Lots of close games tonight.

7:59: James Wood and Warren County are now tied 14-14 with 19 seconds left in the first half. Skyline leads 7-6 at halftime.

7:53: Stonewall Jackson and Buffalo Gap are tied 6-6 at the half. James Wood leads 14-7 with 3:53 left in the second quarter. Manassas Park leads 7-0 after the first quarter.

7:40: James Wood now leads 14-0 with 9:10 left in the second quarter.

7:31: It looks like two upsets are brewing in Front Royal. Skyline is ahead 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.

7:28: Stonewall Jackson is up 6-0 early in the second quarter on a 2-yard TD run by Jared Getz. Meanwhile, an upset is brewing in Front Royal. James Wood leads 7-0 with 2:53 left in the first quarter.

7:04: Handley beats Washington 14-7.

5:55: It's still 14-7, Handley, in the fourth quarter. I'm taking a supper break, but I will have more updates later.

5:42: Dexter Sloane's 4-yard TD run has given Handley a 14-7 lead with 5:29 left in the third quarter.

5:12: Chris Skinner, who made his Handley debut two weeks ago, had the Judges only touchdown with a 32-yard run. The James Wood transfer should help the Judges in football and basketball this season.

5:05: Handley and Washington are still tied at the half, 7-7.

4:42: Handley and Washington are tied 7-7 with 8:55 left in the second quarter.

3:45: We have another strong slate of games tonight. Starting with an early game between Handley and Washington. I think tonight we will find out a lot more about the local teams. Warren County has its first game against a Group AA squad. Central has a tough road test against Manassas Park. Strasburg has a tough road game at William Monroe. As always I will do my best to keep you updated throughout the evening on all the games. Here's a list of tonight's games:

Warren County 40, George Mason 0
Fauquier 21, Handley 13
Millbrook at Harrisonburg

9:29: Thanks for all your updates Lois. Handley starts out 1-3 for the second straight year.

9:24: We have our first three finals. Hedgesville beats James Wood, 17-3, and Loudoun County beats Sherando, 28-0. Also, Strasburg beats Luray 34-14. Good night for road teams.

9:16: Harrisonburg leads Millbrook 21-0 in the third quarter.

9:11: It looks like the Wildcats have woke up. Warren County leads 40-0 at the end of the third quarter. Steele with 111 yards on 16 carries and 3 TDs. Strasburg leads Luray 28-14 with 4:48 left in the game. Todd Dean had a TD run in the fourth to give the Rams a cushion. Troy Gordon had a kickoff return for a TD for the second straight week.

9:09: Thanks for the update Lois. Can the Judges actually start out 1-3 for a second straight year?

9:05: Loudoun County continues to take it to Sherando. It's now 28-0. I'm thinking this isn't an upset, the Dulles District is always strong. It looks like Briar Woods is going to have some serious competition this year from the Raiders.

8:55: It looks like Loudoun County is going to win. The Raiders now lead 21-0 with 11:57 left in the game.

8:51: Lois thanks for another update. It looks like it's going to be a nail-biter at Fauquier tonight.

8:48: Hedgesville leads James Wood 10-3 with 10 minutes left in the game. It looks like I might get that pick right after all.

8:24: George Mason is hanging with Warren County, the Mustangs must have a decent team this year. Warren County leads 14-0 at the half. Gage Steele has 10 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats.

8:10: Sherando still trails 14-0 at the half. Former Handley coach and AD Todd Hill has his Loudoun County defense ready tonight. The Warriors have had 11 rushing attempts for -8 yards. Todd's a good coach, so I'm not completely surprised. He's obviously got that program going strong. Elsewhere, Strasburg is leading Luray 14-7 at the half. The Rams are on the verge of a 4-0 start, with a showdown against Clarke County looming next week.

7:54: Warren County is up 7-0 on George Mason early. Jeff Budwash had a 62-yard touchdown run in the first two minutes of the game. Let the rout begin. I think Warren County is the area's best team. Loudoun County leads Sherando 14-0 with 3:40 left in the first half. The Raiders must have a strong defense to be shutting down Sherando's high-powered offense.

7:52: James Wood leads 3-0 over Hedgesville at the half. Chandler DeHaven already has 6 field goals this season. I may have picked this game wrong, which isn't good since Jeff Nations picked James Wood. Hedgesville beat James Wood last year in a close one.

7:42: Thanks for the update, Lois. It looks like getting back on the winning track won't come easily for Handley.

7:34: Upset in the making. Loudoun County leads Sherando 7-0 with 11:18 left in the first half.

5:51: Another exciting Friday night of football is upon us. There should be some good games tonight, and I will do my best to keep everyone updated with what's going on.

Here's a list of tonight's games:
Hedgesville at James Wood
Loudoun County at Sherando
Strasburg at Luray
Skyline at Brentsville
Warren County at George Mason
Handley at Fauquier
Millbrook at Harrisonburg

8:55 p.m.: An injury has delayed the James Wood/Musselman game. Applemen lead, 23-14, with just more than 10 minutes to play.

8:44 p.m.: Breathing room for the Eagles -- Clarke County 18, Stonewall Jackson 8 with 3:37 left to play.

8:32 p.m.: Clarke County has pushed ahead of Stonewall Jackson, 15-8, with 9:22 left to play.

8:26 p.m.: Stonewall Jackson and Clarke County still locked up, 8-8, heading into the fourth quarter.

8:16 p.m.: Halftime score -- Sherando 28, Washington 19

8:04 p.m.: Back comes Washington, as Tyrek Collier scores on an 8-yard run with 1:08 left in the first half. Sherando leads, 28-19.

7:51 p.m.: Defensive struggle so far in Quicksburg, as Stonewall Jackson and Clarke County are tied 8-8 at halftime. Generals quarterback John-Michael Pirtle leads all rushers with 38 yards.

7:40 p.m.: Sherando's Jalen Brisco connects on another bomb, hooking up with Lucas Tunison for a 68-yard touchdown pass. Sherando leads Washington, 21-6, with 6:24 left in the first half.

7:31 p.m.: Clarke County pulls even with Stonewall Jackson, 8-8, with 5:29 left in second quarter.

7:19 p.m.: Plenty of early fireworks in Charles Town, W.Va. Sherando's Jalen Brisco connects with George Aston on a 51-yard touchdown strike with 5:42 left in the first quarter. The Warriors fumbled on their ensuing series and Washington scored to cut the deficit to 7-6 with 2:03 left in the first.

7:16 p.m.: First update of the night; Stonewall Jackson and Clarke County are scoreless after the first quarter. Generals are driving to open the second.
