People have a tendency to provide too much unnecessary information that can bore the interviewer or even worse, say something that jeopardizes their chances of landing the job!
If you have ever been on an interview, chances are you have gotten the "Tell me about yourself" question.
A job interview should flow more like a conversation and not an interrogation or firing squad! The purpose of an interview is to see if you are a good fit for the employer's needs, but also for you to determine if the job/company/culture is a good lift for you as well.
Did you realize that approximately 65 percent of jobs filled these days are unadvertised opportunities?
Clichés, filler and fluff ... I am not talking about cotton candy! I am referring to the meaningless and often overused filler words people seem to liberally spatter throughout their resumes.
How many times has somebody said something to you or asked you a question and your mouth blurts out something before your brain has had a chance to engage? You walk away saying to yourself, " I shoulda said..." Today, I am going to address some of those questions employers can ask that leave you kicking yourself or with your foot in your mouth
Background checks are often part of the job application process these days. These checks are often used by employers as a means of objectively evaluating a job candidate's qualifications, character and to identify potential hiring risks for safety and security reasons.
A common concern I hear from all too many folks is "I am not getting a job because of my age."

I'll be blunt and get to the point: If your resume has any - or heaven forbid - all of the mistakes I list below, YOU NEED TO FORMAT A NEW RESUME!
