The Virginia Employment Commission/Winchester Workforce Center will be conducting a workshop on the benefits of using Linkedin as a vital component in your job search toolbox.
A gentleman came to our office to inquire about unemployment benefits. He disclosed to one of our claims representatives that he had been incarcerated for 23 years (11 in solitaire confinement).
Believe it or not, approximately 80 percent of jobs are filled through networking of some type. These hidden jobs are never even publicly advertised, they are filled through word of mouth and "somebody knowing somebody." What this means to the job seeker is you have got to build a strong network of contacts that can assist you in finding those "hidden jobs."
