I would like to tell you about an upcoming job fair event to be held from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Winchester.
Whether you like it or not, if you are unemployed you are on an "interview" the minute you leave your house.
Did you realize that there are actually some questions that cannot be asked during a job interview or on a application?
People have a tendency to provide too much unnecessary information that can bore the interviewer or even worse, say something that jeopardizes their chances of landing the job!
If you have ever been on an interview, chances are you have gotten the "Tell me about yourself" question.
A job interview should flow more like a conversation and not an interrogation or firing squad! The purpose of an interview is to see if you are a good fit for the employer's needs, but also for you to determine if the job/company/culture is a good lift for you as well.
Did you realize that approximately 65 percent of jobs filled these days are unadvertised opportunities?
How many times has somebody said something to you or asked you a question and your mouth blurts out something before your brain has had a chance to engage? You walk away saying to yourself, " I shoulda said..." Today, I am going to address some of those questions employers can ask that leave you kicking yourself or with your foot in your mouth
While I would like to take credit for the following funny comments heard at interviews, I can't! Take a minute to read them and have a good laugh! Then consider setting up an appointment in our Winchester office for a free "mock interview." It is a great opportunity to practice things you should say in an interview!
Remember the cliché, "It's not what you say, but how you say it"? This may come as a surprise to you (I found it eye-opening) ... some scientists state that 55 percent of our communication is interpreted through our body language, sometimes referred to as "non verbal" communication!
