The annual Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 in front of the Surgi-Center at Winchester Medical Center, 1860 Amherst St.

Evergreen trees with hundreds of lights are lit each year by a secret and special “Guest of Honor,” a volunteer who has made a significant difference in the health care community. Each light is purchased for a $5 donation to honor a lost loved one or to remember someone special in a person’s life. Lights remains lit throughout the holiday season in December. The name of the person being honored is recorded in the Book of Honor displayed in the WMC lobby and a note is sent to that person to announce the gift.

All proceeds from the Lights of Love are divided between Blue Ridge Hospice and Auxiliary service projects for The Cancer Center. All donations are tax deductible and can be submitted online at https://tinyurl.com/67ek9pbr.
