No one was injured Wednesday afternoon following a multi-vehicle fire on Interstate 81 northbound at the Strasburg 298 exit. According to Strasburg Fire Department Lt. George Rathore, an RV was towing a pickup truck when a fire of unknown origin started in the pickup truck and quickly spread through the truck’s engine compartment and cab and into the rear of the RV. The interstate was shut down for over an hour and a half following the 2:40 p.m. incident. Rathore added it took firefighters 20 minutes to knock down the flames. The truck was a declared a total loss and the RV had heavy damage. Toms Brook and Middletown firefighters and Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue personnel assisted Strasburg with the incident.
