Sale

The Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host an In The Bag designer handbag sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the hospital’s Door 24 North Entrance.

Bingo

Walnut Springs Church in Strasburg will host bingo from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday to benefit the Oranda School House. Food will be available starting at 5 p.m. The cost is 25 cents per card per game.

Reunion

The descendants of E. Cook and Nanny Glascock will hold a reunion starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Northern Fauquier Community Park in Marshall. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a covered and drinks to share, folding chairs and memorabilia.

Warren Parks/Rec

The Warren County Parks and Recreation Department has announced the following activities being held in October:

  • Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge trip: Oct. 6, deadline to register is Friday.
  • Riverside Theatre’s “Beauty and the Beast” in Fredericksburg: Oct. 14, tickets are $90 per person, registration deadline Oct. 1.
  • School’s closed, gym open fun day (ages 7-15): Oct. 8, at the County Health & Human Services gym, $8.
  • Toads, turtles and snakes: 6-7 p.m., Oct. 11 at the community center.
  • Haunted Hallows Eve: 4-7 p.m., Oct. 20 at Rockland Park.

The Rotary Club of Front Royal has announced contributions of $126,370 to several organizations in 2017-2018.

Among the larger donations are: Rotary Foundation, $13,175; scholarships to seniors from Warren County, $13,000; Rotary Foundation PolioPlus, $7,571; Community Project LOVE Letters and PolioPlus planting project, $4,300; annual grant to C-CAP food program, $3,400; Coats-4-Kids project, $3,048; Warren Coalition Miles of Smiles dental program, $3,000.

Doc Smith Christmas baskets, $2,558; Lord Fairfax Community College Rotaract dental mission trip to Jamaica, $2,550; QD Gasque Fund Miracle Kid Noelle lung transplant patient donation, $2,500; Youth Leadership Conference, $2,500; Blue Ridge Heritage chimney project, $2,000.

Camp Fantastic, $1,640; Youth Exchange student, $1,400; miscellaneous community support, $1,131; $1,000 each to the Warren County Backpack program, Blue Ridge Opportunities, St. Luke’s Community Clinic, Samuels Public Library, Warren County Educational Endowment, Blue Ridge Arts Council, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Front Royal Police Foundation, Front Royal Women’s Resource Center and Warren Coalition.
