Shenandoah Conservatory will hold the following concerts:

• Wednesday: 8 p.m., EDGE Ensemble, Shenandoah Conservatory’s new music ensemble, will perform works by Jonathan Newman, HK Gruber, Annie Gosfield and the winner of this year’s William Averitt Prize for Excellence in Composition at Bright Box Theater, 15 N. Open chess

Handley Library in Winchester will host open chess games at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for all ages and skill levels.

One-on-one instruction for new players will be offered at 5:30 p.m. along with a lecture on chess basics and strategy. Meetings are held monthly on the second and fourth Wednesdays. Information:

Egg hunt
