Fort Valley Museum’s annual ice cream social will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 8361 Fort Valley Road on the grounds of the Museum’s Old Brick Church and adjacent to Trinity Church buildings.

Featured will be six different flavors of ice cream, a bake sale, artisan exhibits, hamburgers and hotdogs and music by Tom Parker. The museum is open for browsing with its expanded exhibit on the participation of Fort Valley residents in World War II.

At 3 p.m., Carolyn Kramer will give a talk about her father’s Army service during the Battle of the Bulge.

The Warren County High School class of 1952 will hold a lunch meeting at noon Aug. 2 at The Wayside Inn in Middletown. Reservations are required by Monday by calling Shirley Place at 540-667-5452.



Camp Invention, the National Inventors Hall of Fame summer camp, will be held Monday through Friday at Sacred Heart Academy in Winchester.

The camp, for rising kindergarten through sixth graders, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camp will focus on science, technology, engineering and math. The cost is $225.

Greenway Spirit and Word Fellowship will host its second Queen Ester conference on Aug. 4 for women in need around the Shenandoah Valley at 997 Tasker Road, Stephens City.

The day is spent with morning sessions to include business owners, education services, job interview skills and testimonies on how to succeed in life. A catered lunch is provided. There will also be four different spa rooms with licensed hair stylists, a hands room with a massage and wax dip, makeup room supplied by Mary Kay and a free boutique.
