The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
The Shenandoah County Fair starts Saturday at the fairgrounds in Woodstock. Free admission at gate on Saturday. Exhibits will be received from 8-11 a.m. The County Tractor Pull will take place at the grandstand at 12:15 p.m. Admission is free.
The Modified Truck & Tractor Pull starts at 6 p.m. Admission is $12.
Gate admission at 3 p.m. Sunday is $3 for ages 13 and up, $2 for ages 6-12 and free for those 5 and under. The exhibits will be open, but rides will not be open. Food concession stands open at 4 p.m.
At 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m.Sunday Grace 101 will perform in the free music tent.
The greased pig contest will be held at the grandstand at 6 p.m.
Bring Fido to a happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. The event will feature beer tastings (Winchester Brew Works & Alesatian Brewing Co.), hard cider tastings (Winchester Ciderworks), wine tastings (Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery), live music by Crazy After Midnight, a paw-print art station, doggie treats from At Your Bark’n Call LLC, a pooch playtime area, and a performance of ” Complete Dogness” by Jane Franklin Dance.
Yappy Hour proceeds benefit The Trails at the MSV, a project that will build miles of free, dog-friendly trails at the Museum. Advance tickets: $20 per person; at the door: $25 per person. Dogs welcome but not required; all dogs must be on a leash.
Vinyl Tracks will perform at the last community concert of the season sponsored by Blue Ridge Arts Council at 7 p.m. today at the Gazebo in Front Royal.
The Taste of Blue Ridge Culinary Series will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Schenck Foods at 3578 Valley Pike, Winchester.

National Dog Day
Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester will celebrate National Dog Day with a special showing of “Isle of Dogs” at 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
The screening will be followed by a behind-the-scenes conversation between writer/director Wes Anderson and the movie’s co-star Bob Balaban (“King”). One dollar of each ticket sale will be donated to the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke counties. Additional donations can be made when purchasing tickets online at www.drafthouse.com.
The Plane Crazy RC Annual Open House will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Plane Crazy Flying Field at 306 Sulphur Spring Road off U.S. 50 East. See displays and demonstrations of all forms of model aviation. Free-will parking donations with all proceeds going to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Bright Box Theater will host comedy acts and a murder mystery dinner theater this weekend at 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester:
Comedian Bob Nelson will perform three shows, 8 p.m. today and 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets: $15-$20.
The StageCoach Theatre Co. will present a murder mystery dinner theatre, the Case of the Mysterious Cravat, an Inspector Giles murder mystery, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, which must be reserved by 11 a.m. Saturday, are $25.

Barns of Rose Hill
Voice, piano and composition students at the Goldberg School of Music will showcase their talents at noon Saturday at 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville.
