The Blue Ridge Arts Council will kick off the holiday season in Warren County with its annual Deck the Halls event tonight.
Kym Crump, the council’s executive director, said the event has grown in its 16-year existence.
“People have really loved coming to it and love being involved with it,” Crump said.
The event will begin with a premier gala and auction, which will feature nearly a hundred decorated trees and wreaths for sale starting at 7 p.m. A live auction will begin at 8 p.m., where four prizes, including a one-of-a-kind horseshoe tree and a Signature Theatre season subscription, will be up for bid. There will also be a silent auction for gift baskets.
The fun will continue on Saturday when the arts council will host the kid-friendly Holly Jolly Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Remaining trees and wreaths from the night before will be available to purchase. Crump said there will also be activities for the kids, including decorating their items, and a chance to meet Santa Claus.
The admission fee for tonight’s gala is $20, which includes access to a buffet catered by the Apple House and the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
All event proceeds will go toward the Blue Ridge Arts Council.
