Woodstock residents will be dancing in the street during the annual Vintage Woodstock Festival on June 16.

Director of Marketing and Events Katie Mercer said the festival began over 10 years ago and has been a huge success. The festival includes a street dance, food, arts and crafts, a wine and beer garden and children activities.

The Hacken Boys from the southern end of the valley will entertain the crowd with original songs, country, southern rock and today’s top hits, she added.

“We really enjoy hosting this street dance and always receive great feedback from our attendees, and most of the time are asked to do it more often,” she said. “I think if we decided not to do it one year there would be many disgruntled community members. Who doesn’t love a good outdoor concert like Vintage Woodstock?”

Mercer added that the Woodstock Fire Department will have games and an old-fashioned dunk tank. Select artists, crafters and clothiers will display their merchandise and The Mini Menagerie Petting Zoo with a new member, a miniature cow, will provide entertainment for the kids. Beer, wine and cider will be available for purchase by the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce beside the stage with treats from a variety of mobile vendors.
