The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
The Shenandoah Film Collaborative Inc. will host the Strasburg Film Festival today through Sunday in Strasburg.
Over 200 films from over 50 countries will be shown during the three-day festival at the following locations: Box Office Brewery, Grey Lotus Yoga Studio, Borden’s Lumber and the Town Hall. Tickets are $4 to attend one event, $10 to attend a full day of films and $30 for the full festival. Information: www.strasburgfilm.com.
‘A Christmas Carol’
The Skyline High School Theater Department will present “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the school in Front Royal.
Future performances will be held Nov. 16-18. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, seniors 65 and older and children 3 and older. Tickets for the Sunday matinee performance is $35 per family (parents and minor children only).
WINCHESTER — The Winchester Model Railroad Club will hold its annual fall train show and flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Family Moose Club, 215 E. Cork St. in Winchester.
Admission is $5 per person, $4 with a discount coupon available on the website at WMRRC.org. Children under 12 may enter free of charge. The Moose Club will be selling breakfast and lunch during the show.
Also that day, the Winchester Model Railroad Club will open the doors of its clubhouse at 430 N. Cameron St. to walk through and view its immense HO scale operating layout.
Winchester Little Theatre
Winchester Little Theatre will present Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 315 W. Boscawen St., Winchester.
Future performances will be held Nov. 15-18, 20 and 23-24. Tickets range from $15.50 to $19.75.

Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester will present the following programs this weekend:
- “The Medium,” a two-act opera, will be performed at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Shingleton Dance Space in Winchester. Tickets are $15.
- The Wind Ensemble will celebrate Pulitzer Prize-winning composers at 8 p.m. Saturday in Armstrong Concert Hall. Tickets are $12.
- The Jazz Ensemble will present a tribute to veterans featuring the music of the Big Band Era at 3 p.m. Sunday in Armstrong Concert Hall. Tickets are $12.
Magic Lantern Theatre and Friends of Handley Library will continue its free screenings of movie classics with the showing of “Yankee Doodle Dandy” (1942) at 2 p.m. Saturday at the library in Winchester. Information: 540-662-9041.
7 East Gallery
7 East Gallery will hold a reception for artist Austin Getz and his exhibit “Milk” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 123 S. Main St., Woodstock.
Schultz Theatre will present “Over the River and Through the Woods” at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at J. Frank Hillyard Middle School, 26 Hawks Hill Drive, Broadway.
Tickets are $15 and $13 for students and seniors.
