WINCHESTER — Bella, a 7-year-old pit bull mix, is looking for a loving place to call her home.
Bella came to the Winchester SPCA a few months ago after her previous owners surrendered her, according to Billie Guidry, an adoption agent at the shelter.
“Clearly, her owners before obviously loved her,” Guidry said. “They just couldn’t keep her.”
Bella lived as an only dog and needs to continue living as the only dog, Guidry said. Bella also should not live in a household with cats.
“When she sees [other pets], it’s just so new that I don’t think she quite understands” how to behave around the animals, Guidry said.
Bella would, however, get along well with kids – at least older kids – and adults.
“She definitely bonds very well and strong with her owner,” Guidry said, noting that Bella is an affectionate dog.
Bella came to the Winchester SPCA with a skin infection but has since fully recovered. She does need to be on a grain-free diet, however.
Bella’s adoption fee at the Winchester SPCA is $30.
