Front Royal Mayor Hollis Tharpe will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. today for the opening of Mountain Trails at 120 E. Main St., Front Royal.
Grand opening activities, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., include giveaways, with larger prizes awarded every hour.
The Sugar Shack, a new hand-dipped ice cream and treats shop, will hold a first Friday of the month event May 4 at 629 S. Main St., Woodstock (weather permitting).
The outdoor community event will feature the band The MASH and food trucks will be selling tacos and barbecue. Aritsts are encouraged to show and sell their goods.

The Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 25 opening the new office of ALCOVA Mortgage at 1 Painter St., Luray.
The ceremony was attended by Chamber President Gina Hilliard, Mayor Berry Presgraves, Morgan Phenix with the Page County Board of Supervisors, Page County Administrator Amity Moler and Stanley Town Councilman and Chamber Ambassador Mike Uram.
