Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested  Kevin Dewayne Grayson, 40, of Edinburg, on Feb. 1  and charged him with abduction.

Capt. Wes Dellinger said Grayson was trying to determine if his wife was inside a residence in the 200 block of Shenandoah Avenue. She was, along with another occupant, and the two inside were able to keep Grayson out by holding the door closed.

Later, the woman left the house and got into her vehicle. Grayson blocked the car with his body, and, according to the arrest warrant, the subject “did not feel free to leave of her own will.”

Dellinger said this action constituted abduction.

He confirmed that no one was injured, and that Grayson was arrested without incident. Grayson is being held at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail without bond.

According to the arrest warrant, the victim said there had been previous instances of alleged abuse by Grayson.
