Woodstock woman arrested on child abuse charges

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Caitlin Pool, 25, of Woodstock, on two counts of child abuse and neglect.

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Caitlin Pool, 25, of Woodstock, on two counts of child abuse and neglect.

In two criminal complaints, Pool is accused of placing her daughter in the care of a man who, the complaints state, beat her daughter.

According to the complaints, Pool did not seek medical care for her daughter in either of the two cases. In one of the cases, on Oct. 5, Pool told authorities that she did not believe her daughter needed the medical attention.

“When asked about the bruising, [Pool] stated it did not loock (sic) that bad,” the complaint stated. “[Pool] did not offer her daughter medical attention.”

As of Tuesday, the man accused of assaulting Pool’s daughter had not been charged in Shenandoah County Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, in Shenandoah County General District Court or in Shenandoah County Circuit Court.

The Sheriff’s Office has not responded to a request for comment.

Pool was booked into the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail on Monday.
