STRASBURG – Motorists can expect delays on U.S. 11 starting next week as crews work on the bridges over Cedar Creek.

The Virginia Department of Transportation advised drivers of a traffic-pattern change planned to start Monday on the highway near the Shenandoah-Warren county line. VDOT is replacing the northbound and southbound bridges over the creek with a single, two-lane crossing in the path of the northbound span.

Traffic on both directions of U.S. 11 can use the southbound bridge via crossover lanes in the median. Northbound traffic can follow the crossovers on both ends of the work zone between Oranda Road in Shenandoah County and Water Plant Road in Warren County. A restriction on vehicle widths of 10 feet, 6 inches, allows for standard-width tractor-trailers to pass.

VDOT expects the traffic pattern to remain in place through the project construction until its completion scheduled for November 2018. Work is weather permitting.
