Jashar Ashby, 21, who stands accused of abducting a toddler, remains at-large, according to Warren County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Phillip Henry.
Ashby is accused of abducting a 2-year-old, who was returned home Thursday, a day after being abducted. Henry said over the phone that the toddler was returned home by a “boyfriend or girlfriend of a relative of the child.” He declined to identify exactly who returned the child because the case is an ongoing investigation.
Henry said the office remains actively trying to locate Ashby and is exploring all avenues. He said Ashby has “associates” outside of the state and it is a possibility that he fled the area.
An Amber Alert stated that Ashby is black, 5’10, 130 pounds with brown eyes and blond dreadlocks. Henry said the Sheriff’s Office would be releasing more information upon Ashby’s arrest.
