Skyline scored two runs in the top of the sixth to rally past Sherando 5-4 in a road baseball contest on Friday.
The Warriors scored three runs in the bottom of the first, but the Hawks scored two in the second and one in the third to tie it at 3-3. Sherando scored a run in the bottom of the third, before Skyline rallied in the sixth.
Skyline was led by Cameron Kerns with a triple and three RBIs. Cameron Morris had a single and two runs scored, and Ryan Curl had a single and a run scored for Skyline. Curl picked up the win on the mound and struck out nine in five innings of work.
Sherando was led by Tyler Strosnider with a double, a single, two RBIs and two runs scored. Neil Holborm had two singles, and Trey Williams and Giancarlo Lisciandrello had a single and a run scored each.
The Hawks (3-2) host Broadway on March 30. The Warriors (4-2, 2-0 Class 4 Northwestern) play at Kettle Run on Tuesday.
Mountain View 4, Clarke County 3
Seth Moomaw hit a walk-off single in the seventh to lift the Generals past the Eagles in Bull Run District action on Friday in Quicksburg.
Clarke County scored two in the top of the first, but the Generals rallied with one in the first and two in the second. The Eagles tied the game at 3-3 with a run in the third.
In the bottom of the seventh, Michael Spaur was hit by a pitch from Clarke County’s Aiden Wagner. Kaden McKenzie came in to relieve Wagner. With one out, Mountain View’s Lance Rhodes drew a walk and Joey McNamara was intentionally walked to load the bases.
Facing a 1-2 count, Moomaw drilled a pitch off the centerfield fence for the walk-off victory.
McNamara had a triple, a double and an RBI to lead the Generals at the plate. Zander Jodrie had two singles, an RBI and a run scored, and Moomaw had two singles and an RBI for Mountain View. Chase Jones added a triple, an RBI and a run scored for the Generals.
Jodrie pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits in picking up the win.
The Generals (1-3, 1-1 Bull Run) play at Page County on Tuesday.
East Rockingham 16, Strasburg 15
East Rockingham’s Landon Bruce hit a walk-off single to rally the Eagles past the Rams in Bull Run District action in Elkton on Friday.
The Rams scored six runs in the first and held a 7-6 lead after three innings. Strasburg scored three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to take a 15-7 lead. However, the Eagles scored seven runs in the sixth to cut the deficit to 15-14 heading to the seventh. East Rockingham added two more in the seventh with no outs to pick up the win.
Strasburg had 13 hits. Freshman Nate Turner had three singles, three runs scored and an RBI to lead the Rams. Freshman Ryan Reynolds had a double, a single, three runs scored and an RBI, and senior Braxton Funk had two singles, two RBIs and one run scored for Strasburg. Sophomore Lucas Martinez had two singles, two runs scored and an RBI, and sophomore Peyton Dean had two singles, an RBI and a run scored for Strasburg. Junior Walker Conrad had a single, two RBIs and a run scored for Strasburg.
The Rams (1-1, 0-1 Bull Run) host Luray on Tuesday.
Millbrook 23, Warren County 2, 5 innings
The Wildcats gave up 13 runs in the fifth in a home loss to the Pioneers on Thursday. The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.
Millbrook scored a run in the first, five in the second and two in the third and fourth innings. Warren County scored two runs in the fourth.
The Wildcats were led by Landon Pond with a double, a single and a run scored. Marshall Barton had a single, and Dillon Lord had a run scored for Warren County.
The Wildcats (1-4) host Page County today.
Luray 5, Central 1
Luray’s Trever Griffith and Cameron Weaver combined to throw a no-hitter in a Bull Run District contest in Woodstock.
Griffith threw the first four innings, while Weaver pitched the last three innings. The pair combined for nine strikeouts and six walks.
Clayton Sherman had a sacrifice fly RBI in the first for Central.
The Falcons (0-6, 0-3 Bull Run) host Rappahannock County on Tuesday.
