New Market fell on the road to Broadway, 12-2, on Sunday in Rockingham County Baseball League action.

The Shockers started off slow, giving up two runs in the bottom of the first and eventually fell behind 10-0 through five innings.

Broadway (15-4) entered the contest with a two-game lead on second-place New Market.

The Shockers (11-6) were led by Henry Delavergne (Shenandoah University) as he went 1-for-2 with a triple and a walk. Central graduate Luke Estep (Roanoke College) was 1-for-1 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Sherando graduate Jack Duvall (Shenandoah University) had an RBI for the Shockers.

Sherando graduate Pearce Bucher (Shenandoah University) was 1-for-3 with a run scored for New Market. Ethan Laird (Shenandoah University) and Matt House (Shenandoah University) each went 1-for-3.

The Shockers are three games behind Broadway and .5 game ahead of third-place Clover Hill with three games left in the regular season.

New Market plays at Clover Hill today.
