Royal Oak Book Shop will host the following book signings at 207 S. Royal Ave., Front Royal:

• Sunday: 1 p.m., with Ronald Kirkwood, author of “Too Much for Human Endurance: The George Spangler Farm Hospitals and the Battle of Gettysburg.” Kirkwood is a former editor and writer for USA Today, The Baltimore Sun and Harrisburg Patriot-News and York Daily Record, both in Pennsylvania. He managed the copy desk in Harrisburg when the newspaper won a Pulitzer Prize in 2012. He is a Gettysburg Foundation docent at the George Spangler Farm Civil War Field Hospital.

• July 27: 3-7 p.m., Jeff Hunt will sign copies of his book “Meade and Lee After Gettysburg: The Problems of Command and Strategy After Gettysburg, From Brandy Station to the Buckland Races August 1 to October 31, 1863.”
