The Front Royal office of Weichert Realtors was recognized as having the most sales in April for the region. The region is composed of offices in Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Orange, Prince William and Warren counties.
Individually, sales associate Daryl Stout shared top honors in sales for the region in April.

Barton Black has been named executive vice president, chief strategy and risk officer at F&M Bank.
The newly created role is responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy for the corporation and ensures the bank operates with an appropriate risk management culture to reach goals.
Black has over 25 years of banking experience. He comes from Strategic Risk Associates, in Richmond, where he was managing director. He has also held various leadership roles at Capital One and Hibernia National Bank.
Black earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University. He has certified public accounting certification and is a graduate of BAI’s Graduate School of Banking Operations and IT at Vanderbilt University.
CenturyLink has awarded nearly $17,000 to schools in Virginia as part of its Teachers and Technology program. The program awards grants of up to $5,000 per project to teachers who have developed plans to implement technology in their classrooms. Locally, grants were awarded to:
• Eileen Knesh, a teacher at Leslie Fox Keyser Elementary School in Front Royal, $3,038.90 for the school’s Light, Camera, Action with a Green Screen program.
• Jeff Day, a teacher at Wakefield Country Day School in Flint Hill, $5,000 to update its filmmaking program.
