MIDDLETOWN MEMORIAL DAY

Melissa Legge-Mauck sings the national anthem at the Town of Middletown’s Memorial Day commemoration ceremony on May 25 at the Veterans Memorial Park. Participating in the event were the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2123 and the Colonel James Wood II chapter of the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution. Ray Steele served as emcee and the Colonel James Wood II Color Guard presented the colors. Mayor Charles Harbaugh and Frederick County Sheriff Lenny Millholland presented a wreath to honor all those who served and died. "Taps" was played by Andrew Paul, followed by a rifle salute fired by the VFW Post 2123 Honor Guard with support from the Colonel James Wood II Musket Squad. Danny Hesse gave the invocation and benediction.
