Fun fest A free community resource carnival hosted by ShencoCares will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock. The theme is “Teachers & Protectors.”

Featured will be ‘Touch-a-Truck,’ job fair, rides, games, prizes, food and nonprofit organizations and businesses to share and give back to the community. The Casting Crowns will perform at 7:30 p.m. Food and activities will also be available to purchase.

Lawn party

The Toms Brook Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual lawn party Saturday beginning with the parade line-up starting at 5:30 p.m. on the north end of town. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tai chi

Sustainability Matters will host a Tea and Tai Chi class from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Fellowship of the Sip Tea House, 33 S. Loudoun St., Winchester.

Cash party

The Stephens City Moose Lodge will host a cash party to benefit the Blue Ridge Center for Therapeutic Horsemanship starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at 414 Double Church Road, Stephens City.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 each for a chance to win $1,500. Proceeds will provide scholarships for students with special needs and funds to help care for therapy horses and ponies. Tickets, information, call 540-869-4692 or 540-533-2777.
