Senior exercise

Monday is the deadline to register for Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation’s two safe exercise classes for those 55 and over. Participants will learn the Meeks Method of safe exercise for those with osteopenia/osteoporosis, and they will receive a manual with all exercises and information on management and prevention of osteoporosis.

Classes, which will be held on Thursdays starting March 21 for six weeks, will be offered from noon to 1:15 p.m. at Valley Health Rehab & Quick Care in Strasburg and 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Valley Health Wellness & Fitness in Woodstock.

Monday is the deadline to register for the Shenandoah Naturalists and the Shenandoah Audubon Society’s bird study merit badge workshop for youth 9 and older (Scouts preferred) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 15 and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 16 at Market Street United Methodist Church in Winchester.

Park hours

Warren County Parks and Recreation has announced spring/summer hours will be from 7 a.m. until dusk each day beginning Sunday at the following parks: Gertrude E. Miller Park, County Health & Human Services Complex, Rockland Park, Ms. Smith’s Park, Skyline Soccerplex and Eastham Park.

Youth art

Students at Skyline High School are participating in National Youth Art Month by hanging artwork this month at the Blue Ridge Art Council, 305 E. Main St., Front Royal.

This year many of the students have collectively created a different kind of art show, with 360 pieces on Post-it Notes.
