Breakfast
Spirit & Word Missions will sponsor an all-you-can-eat country breakfast 7-10:30 a.m. Saturday at 1275 Tasker Road, Stephens City. The cost is $7 for adults and $2 for children 5 and younger.
Symposium
The Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association will host a Gardening in the Valley Symposium 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6 via Zoom.
Topics and speakers include: raised beds versus traditional gardens by Lynne Phillips with the Natural Art Garden Center in Toms Brook; Back to My Rots with Diane Kerns with Winchester Cider Works; urban beekeeping and apiculture’s role in sustainable urban agriculture with Brad Garmon with the Commonwealth Bee Co.; and herbs for health and cooking with Sondra Baker Johnson with Nature’s Common Scents.
Lunch talks include members of the James Wood High School FFA; Mark Sutphin with the Extension Service, who will talk about the Spotted Lanternfly; Perry Mathews with the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and Kristin Laise with Belle Grove Plantation, who will talk about enslaved workers.
