Beepin’ bingo

Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation will host beepin’ bingo starting at 5 p.m. Friday at the county park in Maurertown.

Books are $20 with 20 sheets with four bingo cards on each sheet. Concessions sold. Preregistration required by calling 540-459-6777.


Spirit & Word Missions will sponsor an all-you-can-eat country breakfast from 7-10:30 a.m. Saturday at 1275 Tasker Road, Stephens City. The cost is $7 for adults and $2 for children 5 and under.

Benefit sale

The Friends of Lydia’s Clothes Closet is sponsoring a benefit yard sale from 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday at 528 E. King St., Strasburg. Featured items include home furnishings, kitchen appliances, baked goods, housewares, plants, jewelry and more. Proceeds from the sale go to Lydia’s, which is located at 137 E. King St.

Open house

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office will hold an open house at its new facility in Woodstock from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.


Antioch Church of the Brethren will hold vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at 23502 Senedo Road, Woodstock.

Shenandoah Reel Women on the River will offer fly fishing workshops for young women ages 12-18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 29 to July 1 and July 6-8 at the Seven Bends State Park in Woodstock.

Girls will learn the art of fly fishing, knot tying, appropriate equipment, entomology, casting techniques and how to read the water like a fish. Rods, reels and necessary equipment will be available for participants to use.

Registration is $45 through Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation at Activity numbers for each workshop are #330621A for the first session and #330621B for the second.
