Handbag sale

Shenandoah Memorial Hospital's Auxiliary will host "In The Bag" handbag sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Door 24 North Entrance of the hospital.


Literacy Volunteers Winchester Area will host its annual citizenship celebration 3 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, 26 W. Boscawen St., Winchester.

The event will honor students who have obtained United States citizenship with LVWA’s support. In the past year, 18 students prepared for and passed citizenship examinations.

Literacy Volunteers offers English as a second language, pre-GED, reading, basic computing and citizenship preparation. Volunteers provide classes and private tutors to over 360 adult learners at low or no cost. They also provide low-cost, family-based immigration legal services under the supervision of a licensed attorney. Information: 540-536-1648.

Teen Day

Handley Library will hold its annual Teen Field Day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Shenandoah University's Shingleton Gym and Intramural Field in Winchester.
