Card showers

Outdoor series

Lisa Klepp will lead the next virtual outdoors series on climbing sponsored by Handley Regional Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Klepp has traveled to the former Soviet Union, Great Britain, Africa, Pacific Northwest and took images on her way to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Beepin’ bingo

Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation will host beepin’ bingo starting at 7 p.m. on Friday at the County Government Center in Woodstock. Early bird games start 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $50 per book with 10 sheets and 4 bingo cards on each sheet. Registration required by calling 540-459-6777.

Belle Grove

Belle Grove Plantation, south of Middletown, is seeking volunteers to join its team.

People interested in history or would like to learn new skills in gardening or home maintenance are encouraged to apply. National Forests

Although the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest offices are not allowing visitors, staff is available to answer questions, either by phone or email.

The public can still purchase firewood permits, which allows the holder to gather up to six cords of down and dead wood as long as it’s for personal use. Permits are $20 and are good for one year.

Visitor passes are also still available. Annual, three day or daily permits to ride the Taskers Gap and Peters Mill OHV Trail Complex are available from local vendors. Information: https://tinyurl.com/yuhfcz6c.
