Plant sale

Mount Jackson Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in front of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Main Street.


The Warren Charge Mission Team of Bennetts Chapel, Asbury and Limeton United Methodist churches will host a gospel concert and meal at 5 p.m. Sunday at Bennett’s Chapel, 839 Rivermont Drive, Front Royal. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Lunch Bunch

The Lunch Bunch will meet at noon Monday at the Strasburg United Methodist Church. Reservations can be made by calling 540-465-8817.

Sorority news

The Eta Chi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority had a successful year. Its social highlight was a trip to the National Cathedral for a tour and tea.

Service projects included donations of baby items to Small Hands, snacks and drinks for the bridge program at Triplett Tech, dinner for Free Clinic workers, items for Luke’s Backpack and donations to Family Promise.

The sorority donated to Shenandoah Theater, Healthy Families, Just Because, Shenandoah Dental Clinic, Triplett Tech’s National Skills USA competition, Small Hands and Relay for Life. The chapter also sponsors a flag exchange each November at Lowe’s to honor veterans.

Officers are Liz Chance, president; Candi LoPresti, vice president; Lin Manuel, treasurer; Pat Turley, recording secretary; Tish Richman, corresponding secretary.

College news

Kelsie Utz, of Winchester, was named to the dean’s list at Cedarville University for the spring term. She is majoring in social work.
