The deadline to file required signatures to be a candidate in some local elections in Warren and Shenandoah counties this November is 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The deadline arrives as local elections were recently moved from May to November by the 2020 General Assembly to be more in line with national elections.
Those wanting to be a candidate in Woodstock, Strasburg and Front Royal need to acquire 125 signatures by the deadline.
There are no elections for Shenandoah and Warren county seats.
In Woodstock, the seats of Mayor Jeremy D. McCleary and council members A. Paje Cross, Stephen Heishman, and Frank Haun are up for election.
In Strasburg, the seats of council members John Massoud, Taralyn Nicholson and Emily Reynolds are up for election.
An additional Strasburg Town Council seat held by Ashleigh Kimmons is up for a special election.

An additional Front Royal council seat held by appointed member Zack Jackson is up for a special election, but the deadline to be a candidate for it is 5 p.m. Aug. 19.
