A strip that will consist of new business storefronts has continued to progress in Woodstock.
The new building strip of just over 11,000 square feet at the corner of Virginia Route 43 and Woodstock Commons Drive will consist of five or six tenants, including Starbucks and a Virginia ABC store, according to project manager Hunter Call with TAP Investments.
Peter Wray, the realtor associated with the project, alluded to at least two other businesses tentatively included in the project but details are not yet finalized for release. Call said there are about 3,000 square feet still available for use on the east end cap of the building.
The Town of Woodstock’s Urban Designer and Neighborhood Planner Lemuel Hancock said the town is “excited to welcome” the development.
Wray said the building is expected to be complete by fall of this year. He wasn’t able yet to provide any dates for the opening of any of the businesses.
Call said the property was purchased a few years ago and the project was put out to bid in the fall of 2019. The project bid was awarded to Bushong Contracting and Lantz Construction of Winchester, he said. Ground was broken around the start of this year.
According to the Shenandoah County Geographic Information Systems records, the parcel of land at 526 W. Reservoir Road was purchased in 2014 for $699,000. It included three parcels of land, records show — a plot of 4.637 acre of vacant land, a plot of 0.356 acres with a house on it, and a plot of 0.368 acres.
