Police have charged an Edinburg man this week with attempting to take indecent liberties with a child and contributing to the child’s delinquency.
Eric Trent Estep, 59, told police he had been intoxicated when he suggested that a child take off clothes for him.
In June, the child told police that they had talked with Estep at their home and that Estep was intoxicated. According to court documents, the child told police Estep asked about their virginity and smoking marijuana.
Court documents show that the child told police Estep began smoking marijuana before asking the child to take off clothes.
Police followed up their investigation with Estep earlier this month and Estep admitted, according to court documents, to talking to the child about marijuana, their virginity, and to smoking marijuana in front of the child.
