WOODSTOCK - Woodstock police charged a 27-year-old Edinburg man who they found with suspected drugs and a gun.
Police pulled over James Knicely in the 24000 block of Senedo Road when they saw a defective exhaust system on the vehicle he was driving, said Captain Chris Baker.
Corp. M.S. Miller was speaking with Knicely when he revealed that there was a handgun under the driver’s seat. Officers immediately placed Knicely under arrest for carrying a concealed weapon. Officers are still tracking the weapon to determine the registered owner but it was not reported stolen, Baker said.
Officers then searched Knicely and found narcotic paraphernalia and two containers on him. The first container contained suspected residue amount of methamphetamine,and the second contained 14 Xanax pills, a Schedule 1 or 2 narcotic, Baker said.
Xanax has a street value of $2 to $6 per pill based on its strength, Baker said.
Officers found inside the car more paraphernalia and marijuana.
Knicely was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a narcotics charge for possession of marijuana, and possession of a schedule 1 or 2 drug, according to an arrest log.
