To tax or not to tax?
That is the question Shenandoah County voters will be asked on Election Day when they cast their ballot for or against a proposed meals tax that would add a tax of up to 4% on food served in county eateries. The tax, if approved, would not be applied at businesses within town limits.
County voters will also be asked to decide several contested races on Nov. 5, including on the state level in the Senate District 26 and House District 15 and in uncontested races, such as the race for sheriff and commonwealth's attorney.
In Front Royal, voters will decide which former mayor will get their vote for mayor, and Warren County voters will also have contested and uncontested races to vote on, including a choice of four men running for sheriff.
To vote or not to vote? What will you do?
If you're planning to vote, today is a crucial day in the election process. Today is the last day to register to vote for the Nov. 5 election.
