Nonna Good, left, first vice regent of the Narrow Passage chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, presents a Historic Preservation Recognition Award for Excellent Volunteer Work to John Adamson at the group’s meeting on Oct. 10. Adamson is a board member of the Shenandoah County Historical Society and the Strasburg Museum. He serves in various positions at Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown, gives presentations on his Kentucky Long Rifles collection, is author of the book “A Pictorial History of Shenandoah County Fifty Years Through the Lens of Hugh Morrison Jr.” and is a contributor to the Shenandoah County Historical Society Newsletter’s Historic Building Series.
