Free COVID-19 testing events are scheduled for the next three Wednesdays in Front Royal.

The Lord Fairfax Health District will offer the testing from 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 9, 16 and 23 at the Warren County Health and Human Services Complex, 465 W. 15th St. Tests offered will be the polymerase chain reaction tests that take three days for results.

Attendees should use the 15th Street gymnasium entrance.

Testing is available on a first-come, first-served basis for anyone age 2 and older, a news release explains. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No insurance is needed to be tested.

No appointment is needed and everyone should wear a mask and bring photo identification, the release says. Attendees are asked to keep six feet of distance between themselves and others.

“Be sure to tell the testing providers if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, deep cough or shortness of breath, or believe that you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19,” the release says. “If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you do not come for testing.”

The VDH recommends that the following people be tested for COVID-19:

• Individuals with symptoms or signs of COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status

• Anyone who was exposed five days earlier to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, even if you don’t have symptoms

• People who are not up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines

• Those who participate in activities that put them at higher risk of COVID-19 exposure (such as travel, attending large events where social distancing is not possible, or being in crowded indoor settings)

• Those who have been referred for COVID-19 testing by their health care provider, school, workplace or the health department
