A Front Royal man died Monday after driving off Interstate 66 and hitting a fence and guardrail, state police report.
Jerry Hamman was driving west on I-66 near Linden at about 8:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, a 2011 Ford F250, according to state police.
Hamman drove off the east side of the highway and went down an embankment and into a fence, according to police.
Hamman was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital where he died of his injuries.
The report states that Hamman lost control of his vehicle but the cause of the loss of control is unknown. The crash is under investigation.
Sgt. Brent Coffey, public information officer for state police, said the fatal accident involved one vehicle and one occupant.
