The Northern Virginia Daily has restored my faith in the media, and I wanted to thank you for that!
During my early years in the military, my view of the media was shaped by Vietnam-era reporters and editors where I saw facts and news stories deliberately distorted to fit an anti-war narrative.
As late as 1990, while a student at the U.S. Army War College, I had the opportunity to interview Ben Bradlee, the executive editor of the Washington Post. I asked him if one of his reporters had received classified information that would endanger the life of an American serviceman or women, would he suppress the story. His flippant answer was “no, it is not my problem.”
It has taken me years to regain the trust of the media, and The Northern Virginia Daily has done much to restore my faith – thank you! Your paper’s solid reporting and ability to tell all sides of the story is always spot on. Keep up the great work!
