MIDDLETOWN — Members from the town’s several committees heard about additional changes to zoning codes at a Monday night work session.

Zoning Director Michele Snyder discussed tweaking wording to some more zoning codes, such as home occupation and family day home.

The proposed family day home would read a family home serving one through five children, exclusive of the providers own children, and any children who reside in the home, is exempt and is a permitted use in residential dwelling.

Home occupation is any occupation, within a dwelling

She also discussed adding definitions to codes, such as defining a truck stop versus a gas station.

Snyder told members she would send them her revisions to the codes for their review. The changes will be brought before the Town Council on Monday for approval.

In other matters, committee members also discussed Middletown’s Citizen of the Year and Middletown’s $250 scholarship. The nominations for both will be voted on at the Town Council meeting.

They also discussed raising the scholarship amount next year to possibly $1,000.
