Chief, a 3-year-old bengal and domestic short hair mix, is available for adoption at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester.

WINCHESTER – Chief, a 3-year-old bengal and domestic short hair mix, is up for adoption.

Makoto Shamoto, a kennel attendant at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester, said that Chief was brought to the shelter this month as a surrender after his owner passed away.

Shamoto said that Chief is good around people and kids, and that he is OK around other cats.

“[Chief] wasn’t good around cats when he was brought in,” Shamoto said. “Since he’s been here, he’s gotten a lot better about being around other cats.”

Shamoto said Chief is talkative and loves to play.

“He loves to play fetch,” she said. “You don’t see that very often. He also loves looking out of windows.”

Shamoto said Chief does not like to be held.

Chief is up to date on his shots and has been neutered. Shamoto said he doesn’t have any health issues.

The adoption fee for Chief is $95.
