Diesel, an American Staffordshire terrier, is available for adoption at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester.

WINCHESTER – Diesel, a 14-year-old American Staffordshire terrier, is available for adoption.

Debbie Brennan, who works on the adoption team at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester, said that Diesel was brought into the shelter in January. She said he was a owner surrender.

“[Diesel] loves the outdoors and he loves just being loved on,” Brennan said.

She added that Diesel is good around adults and kids, and that Diesel is selective about what dogs he wants to be around.

“He’s a sweetheart around everyone,” Brennan said. “Everybody here at the shelter loves him.”

Brennan said Diesel loves to take walks and recommends an owner who also is trying to get his weight down. She said that Diesel also loves to play with people, especially tug of war.

Diesel doesn’t have any health issues that the shelter knows of, but Brennan said that he does take eye drops. She said it’s not for anything serious.

Diesel has been neutered and has been microchipped. The adoption fee is $95.
