Echo, a 2-year-old hound mix, is available for adoption at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester.

WINCHESTER -- Echo, a 2-year-old hound mix, is available for adoption.

Rosemary Guidry, of the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester, said that Echo was brought into the shelter in January 2019 as a transfer from Goochland County.

“There aren’t a lot of people that like hounds because they like to chase things,” she said.

Guidry said that Echo is very energetic and loves to play with his toys. She said that Echo loves people, but he’s laidback while he is in his crate.

“Any human he sees, he wants them to pet him,” Guidry said.

Guidry said that Echo is all right around other dogs, but she recommended that any potential owners with dogs bring them in to meet Echo. She said that Echo is good around older children, but she didn’t recommend families with younger children due to how energetic Echo is.

“[Echo’s] a loving boy,” Guidry said.

Echo is up to date on all of his shots and has been neutered. Guidry said that Echo doesn’t have any health issues.

The adoption fee for Echo is $95.
