WINCHESTER – Merle, a 4-year-old domestic short hair, is available for adoption.
Judy Myers, an animal caretaker at the Esther Boyd Animal Shelter in Winchester, said Merle was brought to the shelter on Jan. 19 as a stray.
“When [Merle] came in, he was pretty rough looking,” she said. “He’s still kind of rough looking, but he’s such a sweet boy.”
Myers said that Merle has a deformity on his left leg, which was a birth defect. She said that it doesn’t affect Merle when he walks.
Myers said that Merle is a friendly cat who loves being around other people. She said that she doesn’t know about Merle being around kids or other animals since he was a stray.
“[Merle] would make a very good lap cat,” Myers said.
Myers said Merle loves fresh catnip and to play with his toys. Aside from the birth defect on his leg, Myers said that Merle doesn’t have any other health issues.
Merle has been neutered and is up to date on his shots. His adoption fee is $30.
