Olive, a 4-year-old pitbull mix, is available for adoption at the Warren County Humane Society in Front Royal.

FRONT ROYAL – Olive, a 4-year-old pitbull mix, is available for adoption.

Jordan Lillard, an animal caretaker at the Warren County Humane Society, said that Olive was brought into the shelter on April 27 and has been there longer than any of the other dogs there.

“[Olive] was a owner surrender,” Lillard said. “She couldn’t be around other dogs.”

While she recommended that Olive live in a home without other animals, Lillard said that the dog is friendly around other people. She also recommended that, if a potential home has kids, that they be older kids.

Lillard said that Olive is energetic.

“[Olive] loves her toys and loves to play,” she said.

Lillard said that Olive also loves to ride in cars and knows basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” She said that Olive doesn’t like to be hugged or held for long periods of time. Olive also jumps when she gets excited.

Lillard said that Olive has been spayed and is already up to date on her shots. As part of the shelter’s program called “Diamonds in the Ruff” — a program for animals who have been at the humane society for a certain period of time, Olive’s adoption fee has been waved.
