Izzy, an 8-year-old American bulldog-lab mix, is available for adoption at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester

WINCHESTER – Izzy, a 8-year-old American bulldog-lab mix, is up for adoption.

Alisha Piper, a kennel attendant at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester, said that Izzy was brought into the shelter as an owner surrender at the end of September.

“[Izzy] wasn’t good with the other dogs,” she said. “She also wasn’t with the young kids in the family.”

Piper said Izzy is “absolutely great” with people but she recommended a home with older kids.

“No kids under the age of 5,” she said.

Piper said Izzy should be the only dog in the house but she is good around cats. Piper added that Izzy walks well on a leash, is house trained that she likes to play, though she isn't overly active.

“She’s not a very high-energy dog,” Piper said. “She’d make a good couch potato dog.”

Piper said that Izzy doesn’t have any health issues. The dog is up to date on her shots and has been spayed. Izzy’s adoption fee is $95.
