Jindo is available for adoption at the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke counties.

WINCHESTER — Jindo, a 7-year-old Korean jindo mix, is available for adoption.

Katlyn Himelright, a member of the adoption team at the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Warren counties, said that Jindo was brought into the shelter on March 16, 2018. She said that Jindo was not getting along with his former owner’s other dog.

“[Jindo] was getting very territorial,” Himelright said.

Himelright said that she recommends Jindo for a home in which he is the only dog. She also said that Jindo is not good around cats or kids.

“[Jindo] seems to be a little aggressive in his kennel and sometimes barks,” Himelright said. “He just likes to be out and about.”

Himelright said that Jindo loves to take walks.

“He could walk around here for hours if he could,” she said.

Himelright said that Jindo also loves to play with his toys.

“Even at 7, he loves toys,” she said. “He has that playfulness.”

Himelright recommends a owner who is laid back for Jindo. She said that, due to his size and age, Jindo has arthritis in his legs and is known to have ear infections from time to time.

Jindo is up to date on his vaccinations, has been neutered, and is micro-chipped. The adoption fee for Jindo is $95.
