FRONT ROYAL — Hazel, an 8-year-old pitbull mix, is available for adoption.
Meghan Bowers, the executive director of the Warren County Humane Society, said that Hazel was brought into the shelter at the end of September as an owner surrender.
“The owners were moving to a place with [dog] breed restrictions,” she said.
Bowers said that Hazel is friendly with everyone, from strangers and kids to dogs and cats. She said that Hazel does prefer calmer dogs.
“[Hazel] hits the “holy trifecta,” as we say,” Bowers said.
Bowers said that Hazel does like to play and has a lot of energy. She said that the dog also is good in a harness, has been crate-trained and is house-trained.
“She’s a sweet and wonderful girl,” Bowers said.
Bowers said that Hazel doesn’t have any health issues, aside from a small heart murmur the dog has had for a number of years. She said it doesn’t affect Hazel.
Hazel is up to date on her shots and has been spayed. The adoption fee for Hazel is $30 as part of the shelter’s special on senior animals this month.
