WINCHESTER — Oreo, a 14-year-old domestic shorthair cat, is available for adoption.
Autumn Fox, who serves as an animal caretaker at Esther Boyd Animal Shelter in Winchester, said Oreo was adopted 10 months ago, but was brought back to the shelter on Monday.
“[Oreo’s] a sweet old guy,” she said. “I was really happy when he was adopted.”
Fox said that Oreo was surrendered by his previous owners because they were moving. She also said Oreo is good around people and kids, but he doesn’t like being around cats. Fox said she didn’t know how Oreo would react around dogs as his previous owners didn’t have dogs.
Oreo doesn’t have any medical problems to the shelter’s knowledge. Fox said Oreo is litter-box trained and doesn’t display any bad behaviors. She also said Oreo is good when riding in cars and loves catnip.
The adoption fee for Oreo is $30. He has been micro-chipped and has been neutered.
